What I’ve been up to recently

Handspun dyed lace

Here is some handspun heavy lace. I dyed it in one pot with two colors, pink and orange, and it has come out a sort of salmon orange yellow gradient. Just under 250yards, this is the most I’ve ever spun up so far!

Peach Jam

Here is some peach jam we made on the 9th. One was with brown sugar, one with white. It’s not 100% jammy but it’s 110% yummy for sure!

This weekend I am heading up to my cottage with some friends. I hope to catch a fish!

Recent Adventures

Tomatoes

I’ve been partaking in quite a number of adventures recently!

One of which is tending my mother’s garden, although the rain does do a good job of watering at least. Going over ensures I have a fresh supply of delicious herbs and that pests don’t decimate the early crops :)

Rainbow Roving

Another adventure has been more yarn dyeing. My love for rainbow came back in a big way, so I produced this. It let me test out all my dyes as well, so that’s a nice bonus. I am looking in to making some felted items with these or maybe I will simply spin them up into rainbow yarn!

What am I?

A new adventure I am investigating is natural dyeing. I am taking pictures of plants in my area, looking them up, and seeing if they have any dyeing potential. Both the one here and another one in my photostream do have potential, so I have harvested plenty and am processing them into dye! Hopefully the results will be interesting.
