Want To Do List
Page updated in July 2010.
Here is the big almighty list, the list of things I’d love to do anytime. More for my reference than anyone else’s, but feel free to play along at home, or simply read the blog posts that’ll be linked to each item once it’s completed. And they WILL be completed, oh don’t think they won’t!
Arts and Crafts
Quilting. Awhile back a friend’s mom introduced me to Stack-n-Whack quilts, a technique that makes crazy kaleidoscope patterns. I quickly bought fabric and started this project… and it didn’t go too far. I’d like to finish this project, and continue to learn how to quilt other interesting patterns and designs. Back in the beginning of 2009 I completed my first quilt, which you can see here. I have a few more quilts on the go as well. And I finished up the project that started it all, made them into crazy kaleidoscope wall hangings!
Cardmaking. There are a few techniques I want to continue exploring – embossing, interesting card shapes and sizes. And Stamp Carving. Nothing’s more relaxing than sitting down and carving out a stamp. I’ve already made a few, but I want to make more! I was into cardmaking in 2008. Here is the Flickr set for that time. Included there is my Petit Prince stamp I carved.
Fiber arts was an art I completely stumbled into by chance and love a lot! Here’s a Flickr set of the yarns I’ve made and dyed. I also run a blog dedicated to fiber arts, Adventures with Yarn.
Edible Goodness
Artisan Bread Baking. I’ve made a few types of bread, and met with success most of the time. My new apartment has a walk-in pantry which also houses the hot water heater, causing the room to be warmer and thus a perfect bread proofing room, I really want to take advantage of it and make some delicious bread!
This Awesome Cheesecake. I mean, seriously. It’s so awesome! And I can use my springform pan, which has up to now lived its entire life in a box… Me and a friend made cheesecake back round Halloween 09. I used the spring-form pan, it worked very nicely! Once I get settled into my home I will work on making all sorts of cakes!
Make a delicious Caesar Salad. My friend’s mum sent me her recipe for a delicious Caesar salad, so I must make it soon! I’m a sucker for Caesar.
Homebrew! The thought of a delicious homemade apple cider fills me with hope and desire.
Life & Home
Move onto farmland and start a farm! Yeah it probably seems a bit random to those who’ve known me before, but I really want to start up a farm and have a relaxed country lifestyle while still living in today’s fast paced techy world. And as of June 2010, I was living the dream out in Eastern Ontario. We document our farm adventures on the Happy Panda Rainbow Farm website. Yes, that’s the name of my farm!
Work on the house, one room at a time. As of June 2010 the living room is 90% complete… gotta start somewhere!
